2024 Helena Bench Sauvignon Blanc
This estate-grown Sauvignon Blanc captures the distinctive character of Knights Valley, combining expressive fruit with the natural acidity and minerality of its vineyard. Crafted with a focus on preserving vibrant aromatics, this wine reflects the artistry and site-driven approach of Matanzas Creek.
Winemaking
Early-harvested fruit was whole-cluster pressed and fermented in concrete eggs and French oak puncheons to preserve vibrant aromatics while building texture and roundness.
Vintage Notes
Excellent growing conditions produced exceptional fruit, with balanced vineyard exposure and careful canopy management preserving quality through a summer heat event.
Wine Profile
Nectarine, pineapple guava, and lemon verbena lead into a textured palate of grilled fruit, white quartz minerality, vibrant acidity, and an elegant, lingering finish.
2024 Taylor Peak Sauvignon Blanc
Cool coastal breezes from the Petaluma Gap shape the character of this Sauvignon Blanc, allowing its French clones to ripen slowly and develop remarkable aromatic complexity. Bright acidity, delicate fruit, and refined texture reflect the distinctive character of Bennett Valley.
Winemaking
Hand-harvested at night and whole-cluster pressed, the fruit was fermented in stainless steel and French oak puncheons to preserve vibrant acidity and build a rounder texture.
Vintage Notes
Cool spring conditions and the influence of the Petaluma Gap created an ideal growing season, allowing the French clones to ripen slowly while remaining unaffected by the September heat event.
Wine Profile
Yellow guava, white pear, and white lily lead into Asian pear and yuzu, with bright citrus tension, white peach, and a delicate lime meringue finish.
2021 Bennett Valley Merlot
Early harvesting and careful fermentation preserve the fresh fruit and natural acidity that define this expression of Bennett Valley Merlot. A later-harvested block adds structure and depth, creating an elegant wine with concentrated fruit and a supple texture.
Winemaking
Hand-harvested at varying ripeness, the fruit was fermented at lower temperatures to preserve raspberry and boysenberry aromas before pressing and barrel aging.
Vintage Notes
An exceptionally dry 2021 season produced small berries with concentrated color and tannins, while phenolic maturity at lower sugar levels resulted in balanced alcohol and fresh acidity.
Wine Profile
Blueberry jam, red cherry, and dry red flowers lead into cinnamon, cardamom, and pepper, with raspberry jam, supple tannins, and a lingering dry-thyme finish.
2023 Knights Valley Malbec
Grown in the mountain-surrounded landscape of Knights Valley, this Malbec showcases the region’s ability to produce deeply colored wines with concentrated fruit and pronounced tannins. Rich berry character, vibrant acidity, and savory earthiness come together in a wine with both depth and aging potential.
Winemaking
Whole berries underwent a four-day cold maceration before fermentation at 80°F, with twice-daily pump overs to preserve vibrant fruit character while building structure and tannin.
Vintage Notes
A cooler growing season produced exceptional concentration and saturated color, resulting in an especially inky Malbec with pronounced depth and character.
Wine Profile
Boysenberry, violet, and pomegranate lead into dark plum, huckleberry, and cherry-covered dark chocolate, with savory earthiness and a structured, lingering finish.
